Part of MICA's mission is supporting local Arizona businesses and one of our favorite suppliers is PhiBee Aromatics. A family business, born out of love and passion for the native plant world, PhiBee's founder Clare Licher began studying medicinal herbs in 1987. She is currently working on a book titled Native Essential Oils of the American Southwest. Her partner Max is an avid botanist and plant photographer, and has catalogued over 1,200 native plants in the Sedona Oak Creek Canyon region. PhiBee Aromatics began distilling essential oils in 2005 and since then has distilled over 80 different species of native and locally cultivated plants. PhiBee is intentional about low-impact harvesting methods and we love their creosote-juniper co-distill, which plays a central role in our June Monsoon.
